Quickstart
Go from a new workspace to your first answered conversation.
This guide walks through the fastest path to a working support setup.
1. Create your workspace#
Sign up at app.chatasist.com and create a Company. Each company is an isolated workspace with its own data, team, channels, and settings. A single user account can belong to multiple companies and switch between them.
Invite teammates from Settings → Users. Each member gets a role — Administrator, Manager, User, or ReadOnly — that controls what they can see and do.
2. Connect a channel#
Open Settings → Channels and connect at least one source of conversations:
Embed the live-chat widget on your site — no third-party account required.
Connect via the official Twilio API, or link a personal number by QR.
Connect a bot and configure its name, description, and commands.
Connect Pages and Instagram Direct through Meta OAuth.
The website widget is the quickest to verify — see Embed the widget.
3. Answer in the inbox#
New messages land in the omnichannel inbox. From there you can assign, star, mute, mark read/unread, and resolve conversations across the views All / Mine / Unread / AI agent / Starred. Messages deliver in real time.
4. Turn on the AI agent (optional)#
Give the AI agent something to answer from, then enable it per channel:
Build a knowledge base
Add a knowledge base under Settings and ingest content from a URL crawl, file upload (PDF/Word), or pasted text. See Knowledge base.
Enable per channel
Toggle the AI agent on for a channel and pick a tone. It runs on Chatasist's managed AI — no model hosting or API keys to configure. It answers grounded only on your knowledge base and can open a ticket or run a CSAT survey.
5. Automate with the API (optional)#
Provision an OAuth client and start managing customers programmatically. Continue to the API introduction.
