Google Drive
Sync Google Docs and Drive files into a knowledge base so the AI agent answers from them.
Connect Google Drive and pick the documents the AI agent should read. Chatasist pulls each file's content into a knowledge base, embeds it for retrieval, and re-indexes it when it changes.
Google Drive sync is available on the Growth plan and above. On Free and Starter, the Integrations menu and the "Google Drive" knowledge-source option are hidden.
Connect Google Drive#
- Go to Integrations in the sidebar.
- On the Google Drive card, click Connect Google Drive.
- Sign in with Google and approve access.
- You're returned to the Integrations page with Google Drive listed as Active.
Add files to a knowledge base#
- Go to Knowledge Base and click Create knowledge base, name it, and pick Google Drive as the type.
- Choose the connection, search for the documents you want, tick them, and click Add selected files.
Google Docs are imported as text; other text-based files are read directly. Indexing runs in the background and the AI agent can answer from those files on its next reply.
How sync stays up to date#
A background job runs about every 10 minutes, re-pulls each connected account, and re-indexes any file that changed since the last sync.
Disconnect#
From Integrations → Google Drive, click Disconnect. The AI agent stops syncing from that account; already-indexed content keeps working until you remove the affected sources or knowledge base. Nothing in Drive is changed — disconnecting only removes Chatasist's access.
What the integration can and can't see#
- Only what you authorize. Chatasist reads only the files your connected Google account can access.
- Document text, not comments or revisions. It indexes the current text of each file you select.
Combine your Drive docs with other knowledge sources for sharper answers.
