Slack
Sync Slack channel history into a knowledge base so the AI agent can draw on team discussions.
Connect Slack and pick the channels whose recent history the AI agent should read — useful for turning team Q&A and announcements into answerable knowledge. Chatasist indexes the recent messages of each selected channel and re-indexes as new messages arrive.
Slack sync is available on the Growth plan and above. On Free and Starter, the Integrations menu and this option are hidden.
Connect Slack#
- Go to Integrations and click Connect Slack on the Slack card.
- Approve the Chatasist app for your workspace.
- You're returned to the Integrations page with Slack listed as Active.
Add channels to a knowledge base#
- Go to Knowledge Base → Create knowledge base, name it, and pick Slack as the type.
- Choose the connection, tick the channels you want, and click Add selected channels.
Each channel becomes one source containing its recent message history. A sync runs about every 10 minutes to keep it current.
Slack indexes recent top-level messages per channel; long threads aren't fully expanded. Pick focused channels (e.g. a support or FAQ channel) for the best results.
Disconnect#
From Integrations → Slack, click Disconnect. The agent stops syncing; already-indexed content keeps working until you remove the sources.
Combine Slack knowledge with your docs for sharper answers.
