Telegram
Connect a Telegram bot and manage its profile.
Chatasist connects to Telegram through a bot. Create a bot with @BotFather to get a bot token, then connect it.
Connect the bot#
Under Settings → Channels, add a Telegram channel and provide:
- Bot token — the token from BotFather (20–512 characters).
- Name — an internal label.
Chatasist verifies the token against Telegram's getMe before saving (there's also a
"verify" step you can run first), then stores the token encrypted.
Webhook#
Chatasist registers the webhook for you automatically — you don't paste a URL anywhere.
It points Telegram at a per-bot endpoint, subscribes only to message and
edited_message updates, and validates a secret token on every incoming request. Removing
the channel deletes the webhook.
Bot profile editor#
You can manage the bot's public profile from Chatasist without going back to BotFather:
| Field | Limit | Telegram action |
|---|---|---|
| Bot name | 64 chars | setMyName |
| Description | 512 chars | setMyDescription |
| Short description | 120 chars | setMyShortDescription |
| Commands | up to 100 | setMyCommands |
Each command must match ^[a-z0-9_]+$ (max 32 chars) with a description up to 256
characters.
Typing actions#
While an agent is replying, Chatasist can send Telegram chat actions —
typing, upload_photo, upload_video, record_voice, and upload_document — so the
customer sees realistic activity indicators.
